The Seed School

During 60 minutes a story was done on "The Seed School." The Seed School was created by two men wanting kids from low economic classes to have the same opportunity as upper class students in college prep or private schools. Students are selected through a lottery starting at 6th grade. The students that are selected will be here until graduation. The students live in a dorm style community: no TV, cell phones, and personal computers are allowed. Students start the day at 6a.m. for breakfast, health enhancement, etc... Classes start at 8a.m. and end at 4p.m. 97 percent of students graduate from this school and 94 percent of the students become college graduates. There are only two schools both on the east coast that are open due to the low amount of money available to open them.
